While the setup is the same, there is a key difference between Global and Personal Sequences.
A Global Sequence is a Sequence that is shared in your entire Salesforce org. If you have a call cadence Sequence for your Sales Reps, this would be a great use case for Global Sequences.
A Personal Sequence is one that is private to your profile only. If you have a unique cadence of tasks for a specific opportunity, you would probably want to look at Personal Sequences.
